The first event in gather.town:

We from DEEPWAVE have been hosting live filmfestivals since 2013. Two years ago we were approached by the ICRS to host a festival for the general public in Bremen. As this couldn’t take place we are now hosting a virtual film night for: you.

We have selected 7 films that see corals from a different perspective, one of beauty and magic but also sadness, grief, and hope. We would love for our films to set the emotional tone for the rest of the conference and wish you a thoughtful film night with friends and family.

Further questions?

— Please refer to our FAQ below. —

+
Q: How do I buy an online ticket?
After you get to the page with the embedded player, click the „Buy Bundle“ button in the player. After clicking the button, you need to enter your mail address. Follow the further instructions on the screen. Accept the terms of use and complete the purchase by clicking the button „Rent now for free“.
If the festival is running and the film is already available, it will start when you click on „Watch now“. At the same time, we will send you an email with the Ticket-ID. This can be used to watch the film on another device – for this, there is the text „Enter your ticket ID“ under the „Buy Bundle“ button in the player view – when you click on it, you will be asked to enter your ID.
Q: Why do I have to buy a bundle for a free filmfestival?

We have to send you a Ticket-ID, so you can access the live stream and films. We are doing so through a Check-Out for 0 $. You will only be asked for an e-mail address once and never charged.

Q: What is a Ticket ID?
A Ticket ID is a twelve-digit number made up of numbers and letters. It serves as your personal digital ticket that allows you to watch the movie you purchased. It will be displayed and emailed to you after the purchase process. After the first click on „Watch now“, i.e. the first start of the film, your ticket ID is valid for 48 hours.
Q: Where is my Ticket ID?
Right after you completed the purchase order by clicking „Rent Now for Free“ the Ticket-ID will be shown in the embedded player. Otherwise it will be send to you per mail.
Q: What payment methods are offered for ticket purchase?

You are not charged for the festival, so no payment processor necessary.

Q: Do I need to register or do I need an account?
No, you do not need to register. An email address is required so that we can send you an order confirmation and the Ticket-ID.
Q: In which countries can I watch the movies?
Worldwide. While many films are subject to licensing rights and may only be broadcast in certain regions, we have ensured all films are watchable worldwide.
Q: On which devices can I watch the movies?

The movies can be rented and watched via your browser. Different browsers are supported on different devices.

From Windows 8.1, Mac 10.9, Android M with the following browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge).

Q: Can I watch the movies on my TV?
Yes, you can connect your laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable. If you have a Smart TV, you can also stream the movies from your laptop or smartphone to the Smart TV via Chromecast or Airplay. To do this, simply play the title of your choice and then press the cast button in the player. You can then select the device to which you want to cast.
Playlists are not supported by Chromecast, only individual content.
Q: How does Pantaflix use my data?

As safe, fair, and humane as possible. Take a look at our privacy policy for more details. What matters most: Your personal user data will not be shared with third parties.

Q: Can I delete my cookies while watching a movie?
This is not recommended. Playing itself is not affected, but every single action with the portal will fail as a result and you will have to verify again via the Ticket-ID. Look out for a button that looks like this:
Q: How does the movie playback look like if I have a bad internet connection?
We automatically adjust the quality of the movies to your internet connection and player. If you have a slow internet connection, the movie may not play in the best possible quality.
Q: How much time do I have to watch the film/contribution?

Until Friday, 23.07.2021, 23:59 CET. After the first viewing, however, the film must be finished within 48 hours, depending on the setting.
Live events can only be viewed live – but a recording of the panel discussions may be provided on Monday.

Q: Why won't the movie play?

There may be several causes here:

  • Your browser / device is not supported. Please try again on a different browser or device.
  • The period in which the film is available has already expired
  • The validity of your Ticket ID has expired or you have already used your Ticket ID.
  • You already have the movie playing on 5 browsers / devices or running on 2 devices at the same time.
Q: Do you have any other questions?

Feel free to contact us over info@deepave.org

Q: I want to support you for organizing this filmfestival. How can I donate to DEEPWAVE?
Thank you! We are entirely donation-based, so we appreciate any help. The best way to help from abroad is by becoming a Patreon.

We are a German NGO, so depending on where you live, a donation might even be tax-deductable:

Bahari Salama

Is it still possible to find an alternative to intensive exploitation of marine resources? In Zanzibar, the local fishing community of Jambiani is trying to preserve the biodiversity of the ocean’s fauna. Bahari Salama is a doc film co-financed by donors and through a crowdfunding campaign, which will show how it is possible to find an alternative route to the intensive exploitation of our seas – through projects that protect both the environment and the local economies of fishing populations.
